Like our favorite song to listen to, we all have a tune that we love to dance to as well! It’s that song that makes you get off your seat when you’re at a party and jump onto the dance floor. Or, what about when your song comes on the radio in the car? It’s this tune that you can’t help but bop along to regardless of who might be watching you while you’re dancing, sitting in traffic.
For some people, this song can be a catchy tune that you recently heard on the radio. Some popular numbers include Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” and Silento’s “Whip Nae Nae.” I’ve seen a lot of people shake a leg or two to these songs, and it’s always a hit regardless of where I go!
I’m also one of those people who enjoys a good pop song to dance along to. If I were ever to be a part of dance show or talent show, I think I would choose a popular song to get my audience hyped and into the mood for dancing — a good pop song will always do the trick! But, although I would choose a more recent song to jiggy to, the couple in the video below thought to go old school, and boy, are we glad they did!
Swing has become a dance classic. If that makes you think it’s for old fuddy duddies, think again. Check out the smooth style brought to it by Bianca Locatelli and Nils Andrén, a dance sensation on
These two energetic dance devotees get to travel the world to spread their love of dancing via teaching it, participating in competitions and performing routines. They’ve won numerous awards and their audiences are crazy about them.
Bianca started dancing when she was just six years old. She has tried a wide variety of dance forms, including street dancing and ballet. But she eventually decided that swing was her true love.
“I tried ice hockey, it’s not my thing. I tried soccer, not my thing … I tried a lot of things,” he said. Around the time he was flailing around, still looking for a hobby, a dance teacher came to his school and got him interested in entering a dance competition, so Nils learned how to dance the boogie woogie, and he ended up winning the competition!
Nils came to dance later in life, after trying more traditional male sports, including ice hockey and soccer. He was finally pointed in the right direction by a dance teacher who came to his school. He entered a competition, learned the boogie woogie for it and won. He’s been a dancer ever since.
They got together in 2013 after she moved to Sweden. Their dance fame really took off after they danced to “Hey! Baby” at the “Rock That Swing” festival in Munich and a video of their performance hit YouTube. This is the same song that wowed audiences in Dirty Dancing with Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze.
Bianca and Nils picked a tune that had the judges out of their chairs and dancing along too! It makes sense why they were slated to take home the top prize long before they even stepped onto the dancefloor.
Even though he looks like a natural now, Nils admitted his journey to dancing was a long one.
